There is nothing I would not do for those who are really my friends.
I have no notion of loving people by halves, it is not my nature.

Some thoughts on friendship and blogging.

This year I have met so many new friends through blogging.

They share wonderful stories about their travels, art, sewing creations, and their homes to name a few reasons why I love visiting my blogging friends.

I want to thank all of you that have visited my blog and left such kind comments this year.

I am acutely aware that this is not a happy time for many.
I know that not everyone is wrapping gifts for large families or have seemingly endless bank accounts, warm homes and  expensive gadgets. Please remember you are blessed with friendship.

Some of my favorite friendship quotes:

In everyone's life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit. ~Albert Schweitzer

But if the while I think on thee, dear friend,
All losses are restored and sorrows end.
~William Shakespeare

Friends are those rare people who ask how you are and then wait for the answer. ~Author Unknown

The best kind of friend is the one you could sit on a porch with, never saying a word, and walk away feeling like that was the best conversation you've had. ~Author Unknown

Friends are kisses blown to us by angels. ~Author Unknown

Wishing you a blessed day dear friend!

Another collection

I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

We have a formal dining room in our home which has only been used twice since we moved here 4 years ago.

This is the china cabinet in the DR.  As you can see I have a collection of Royal Doultons.  All were purchased prior to them being made in China.  Of course, this is my only 'new' collection.  In the case you can see my vintage Homer Laughlin Virginia Rose dishes, some Heisey glass pieces and Fention pieces.

Some close up photos of my collection.

DH took me out for breakfast this morning and then to the mall.
He surprised with the most beautiful ring!  It is being sized so I won't actually have on my finger until early January.
Today was a wonderful day with my DH!

Wishing you a wonderful Sunday!

I hope you are having a great week.
I have scanned two of my vintage Christmas postcards for you.

During this time of year we get all caught up in the merry of the season...shopping, parties, and baking to name a few.  But just wanted to remember that there are those who are less fortunate in many ways...no family, illness, and unemployed to name a few.  Please don't get me wrong, I am so thankful for everything in my life.  While out the other day at the grocery store, there was an older gentleman who didn't have enough money to pay for the few items he wanted to purchase...milk, Spam, bread, and a Christmas card.  I offered to pay his balance.  Not to make me feel better, but to see a smile on his face.

There are a lot of bloggers that have been posting beautiful images of their homes for the holidays.  Thank you for sharing the beauty of the season.

Wishing you a wonderful day!
