There is nothing I would not do for those who are really my friends.
I have no notion of loving people by halves, it is not my nature.

Brittany from Adeline's Shabby Cottage http://adelinesshabbycottage.blogspot.com/ gave this award. Thank you!

Here are the rules:
1. You have to pick 5 blogs that you consider deserving of this award for their creativity, design, interesting material, and also contribute to the blogging community, no matter what language.
2. Each award has to have the name of the author and a link to his/her blog to be visited by everyone.
3. Each award winner has to show the award and put the name of and link to the blog that presented her/him with the award.
4. The award winner and one who has given the prize have to show the link of "
Arte y Pico" blog so everyone will know the origin of this award.

Now comes the hard part. Choosing the five that inspire me.
1. Ree at http://thepioneerwoman.com/. Her blog is just a great read on how a woman lives an unbelievable life! Some days over 1oK hits!
2 Vanessa at http://vanillalavender.blogspot.com/ . Tales of antiquing and meeting new friends.
3. Dani at http://ambitionsdesign.blogspot.com/ . Her wonderful art.
4. Missy at http://shabbygirl.blogspot.com/ . Sharing her stories of teaching and her wonderful art.
5. Susan at http://raspberryroaddesigns.blogspot.com/ . She offers weekly free digital scrap booking kits, wonderful on-line store ~~ which is beautiful!

NOTE: As you can see, I cannot get the link to work for websites in my posts! Just hate being so frustrated.

Hope everyone has a great day!
Hugs, Sharon

Blog Give~Away is Back!

July Blog Give Away
I have decided to bring back my monthly blog give aways.
This is a vintage bottle that I applied a black transfer, added vintage looking chain and seam binding, antique chandelier crystals, and a vintage black beaded button.
Please leave a comment what 4th July means to you and that will enter your name in my give away. I will announce a winner on Monday, July 7th. Good luck!

The June design project, I was sent a Crafty Secrets, Sweet Chips Chipboard, Little Girl Outfit. I used the Little Girl Outfit, vintage buttons, toile, red pearls, Liberty Stars paper, Sheer Silver on Vine paper, and Castaway Die Cut cardstock.

Patriotic Picnic

I know...2 posts in one day! The dogs were well behaved today, so I got a chance to complete both projects!

Weekend at Little Red River

Here are some of our photos from the weekend. It was a great cabin...quite romantic!
But the water was about 5 ft above normal, so DH did not go fishing as planned. He was disappointed but still relaxed reading his books.

Garden Walk Tour

Garden Walk Tour
June 15, 2008

In support of free mammorgrams, please make a donation to The Breast Cancer Site.
Deena is having a Garden Walk Tour as posted on her website. Please check out her blog for other garden tours.

Our home is less than 2 years old, so our gardens are just getting started!

I scanned a vintage postcard from my collection and altered the photo with Photoshop.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!

It's Friday, we are going to Heber Springs, AR so Don can go fishing. Now, you know I have done my research...Internet postings state Heber Springs has antique shops. Well, I guess I will have to take a little road trip on Saturday morning to see if the Internet is correct!

Below I have posted my vintage finds from my Nashville trip.

This is a digital collage I made using Photoshop.

The following photos are some of collectibles.my kitchen.

Hope everyone has a great Friday!

Hugs, Sharon

Today I did absolutely nothing but play on the computer! What fun...except for when the dogs needed something.

Last week I purchased some vintage photos from eBay. They came in the mail today and I had a great time opening the packages. I also received a package from Gail at the Shabby Cottage Studio for June's design project. I will be working on the project and some other art creations next week. Photos will be posted later next week. So please check back often next week

I am also going to post a blog give away next week. I decided that I am not going to let a few jerks who send anonymous emails about my blog give ways bother me. I enjoy and have a lot fun putting together my blog give aways.

Don't forget to join in on the Garden Walk Tour, Sunday, June 15th. Please check out Deena's blog, Can I Be Pretty In Pink, http://www.deenasstory.blogspot.com/, for details and please make a donation! I will be posting my photos on Sunday morning, so please visit my blog on Sunday!

Hugs,
Sharon

Tagged!

I got tagged by Vanessa from her blog Vanilla Lavender. This is the first time I have been tagged...and as you can see in this posting, I do not know how to link to a blog! Please accept my apologies for my lack of knowledge in this area.

a) What was I doing 10 years ago?
Working at Fort Detrick as a Senior Contract Analyst, in support of military health and research programs.

b) What are 5 things on my to-do list for today.
Drive from Nashiville to Bartlett, keep a look out for anituque malls, stop and get Camery from dealership, arrive at home to happy pets, and cook dinner.

c) Snacks I enjoy:
Fresh strawberries, peaches, watermelon, Edy's frozen fruit bars!

d) Things I would do if I were a billionaire:
Pay off home loan, travel with DH, and help family members...and YES I would save for a rainy day!

e) Places I have lived:
Springfield, VA, Frederick, MD, Schertz, Tx and Batlett, TN.

And here is fun part where I should tag four other blogger friends to do the same thing!

Gail at Shabby Cottage Studio, http://www.shabbycottagestudio.blogspot.com/
Missy at In A Shabby Kind of Way, http://shabbygirl.blogspot.com/
Theresa at Take A Sentimental Journey, http://theresa-sentimentaljourney.blogspot.com/
Lori at Pink Faded Roses, http://pinkfadedroses.blogspot.com/

I will post some photos of the goodies I found today at a few antique malls. DH did not complain a bit about stopping!

Hope eveyone is doing well.
