Here are some of my collages I have made in the past few weeks. I am still getting use to the new camera.
This collage I used vintage lace, vintage pearl necklace, vintage papers, Charlotte doll, and rose wallpaper.
This collage I used a vintage image, vintage wallpaper and papers, new Paris napkin, vintage lace, vintage seam binding, new jewelry findings, and died coffee filter papers for the roses in the corners.I hope everyone is having a great start for your week! Sharon
I hope everyone is having a great week! I have been working on organizing my art/sewing studio the past several weeks. I have come to realize that I really miss sewing and creating art! As sorting through things in the studio, I found so many inspirations! Vintage jewelry (my favorite!), fabrics, trims, laces, collectible photos, books...just to name a few. The sun was not out today but I wanted to take some photos of my many inspirations found in my studio. So I am hoping Thursday brings a sunny day for taking some photos to share with you. Last night I did some searching on art groups, ATCs, collages...and found some new blogs (to me they are new!) that are wonderful and full of inspiration. Inspiration doesn't mean copying the art of another artist and selling it as your own creations...I have seen this happen to many sellers selling digital collage sheets. Inspiration should be an idea from a magazine or blog...taking that idea and making your "unique" creation using what inspires you most. I will be sharing with you later this week some photos of my new art and what inspires me from my studio. Thank you for your wonderful comments this week! Sharon
My blog focuses on my vintage discoveries and treasures, and a showcase for some of my favorite vintage inspired handcrafted items and collectibles. I offer free vintage postcard images from my collection. I am a self taught mixed media artist...so please join me on my journey of searching for vintage and antiques for repurposing. Making old memories new again!
Normal day, let me be aware of the treasure you are. Let me learn from you, love you, bless you before you depart. Let me not pass you by in quest of some rare and perfect tomorrow. Let me hold you while I may, for it may not always be so. One day I shall dig my nails into the earth, or bury my face in the pillow, or stretch myself taut, or raise my hands to the sky and want, more than all the world, your return. ~ Mary Jean Iron
