This is what I have been working on the past week. I finished the final stages today.
I have named my journal Vintage Lace Romance. There are several layers of vintage lace and trim on both the front and back of this journal. I have also added a tea dyed silk rose embellished with a vintage aurora borealis earring. Just to add more shabbiness to this journal is a sweet vintage linen hankie that has French knots and appliqued flowers. Here is a close up photo of the tea dyed silk rose with a vintage aurora borealis earring. I listed this OOAK journal in my Etsy shop this evening.
This is a display of my vintage finds. I stopped by an antique mall on my way grocery shopping yesterday. It was such a beautiful day here.
Just look at the pretties! Some may be included in my May blog give away.
The May blog give away will be a special one.
It will include some art pieces from some of my favorite bloggers.
Just look at this vintage purse! It is so pretty. There is a some damage to the fabric but is still such a pretty vintage find. I am thinking of altering it...well really adding some pretties to the handbag for a hanging collage. Look at these lovelies! Such cuteness!
This is what I received in the mail this week from Deb at Garage Sale Gal. We have had several holiday swaps. This is our Easter swap which included a handmade tussie. Deb was so generous with all of my goodies! Thank you Deb!
This is a close up of the tussie Debbie made. It is so pretty. I have it hanging in my hearth area on an antique cabinet so I can enjoy each day while having morning coffee and reading the newspaper.
It is going to be a beautiful day here. Lots of sunshine and warm temperatures.
Here are a few images for your creative muse for the weekend. These are images from a CD that I purchased several years ago of vintage postcards.
I want to thank you for visiting my blog and leaving such kind comments. I have really met a lot of wonderful friends here in blog land. Each of you have so much to offer on your blogs...recipes, art projects, decorating ideas, just to name a few. Thank you for sharing with us!
Some vintage Easter postcard for your creative Friday and weekend projects.
I used Photo Shop to enhance the images.
Has this happened to you? This week has been a tug of war on emotions for me...do I create or do I clean? So needless to say I feel as though I haven't accomplished much this week. So my creative Friday will be spent cleaning instead of creating.
My blog focuses on my vintage discoveries and treasures, and a showcase for some of my favorite vintage inspired handcrafted items and collectibles. I offer free vintage postcard images from my collection. I am a self taught mixed media artist...so please join me on my journey of searching for vintage and antiques for repurposing. Making old memories new again!
Normal day, let me be aware of the treasure you are. Let me learn from you, love you, bless you before you depart. Let me not pass you by in quest of some rare and perfect tomorrow. Let me hold you while I may, for it may not always be so. One day I shall dig my nails into the earth, or bury my face in the pillow, or stretch myself taut, or raise my hands to the sky and want, more than all the world, your return. ~ Mary Jean Iron
