Vacation Vintage Finds

We had a wonderful time on vacation...just relaxing!

We did spend a day antiquing in Fairhope and Foley.

These are some of my vintage finds. Some old children's books, cabinet photos, vintage hankies, vintage lace tatting, flower frogs, and vintage jewelry.

Speaking of items being published...what are your thoughts about art whether it is clothing, a collage, a tag, a piece of jewelry, a journal...well for that matter anything that is published in a magazine that inspires us...is the "published" inspiration only for your viewing or for you to create something similar? I have been reading some blogs where the "artist" feels that his/her published inspiration is only for their proprietary use...meaning you "cannot" copy the idea or image. I feel once you put something on your blog, Flickr, or it is published...it is there to be shared and can be used for your inspiration on your next project whether it is for sewing or art. Would love to hear your comments?

We have been getting ready to go on vacation next week to Gulf Shores, AL. We are SO excited about getting away for a week...beach, sun, seafood, and fun!

Nancy's Art and Gifts

I participated in an Easter swap with Nancy. I know....this is late in posting! But I wanted to share with you Nancy's art and her gifts to me. She sent me my Easter swap but with the mail being undeliverable or lost sometimes I did not receive her swap goodies. She sent me these goodies recently. Her Spring banner is full of wonderful details! She made 2 vintage inspired ATCs and an envelope for them....so pretty! She send me a beaded bracelet and some vintage buttons.
