Do you have a favorite a actress?
My favorite actress is Meryl Streep.
"Acting is not about being someone different.
It's finding the similarity in what
is apparently different,
then finding myself in there".
~ Meryl Streep
She has matured beautifully!
She is - in my opinion- one of the greatest actresses
that the world has known.
Most nights I can't sleep, so I search the Internet on stories or photos of interest...movies, fashion, and art.
Wishing you a wonderful Wednesday!

Did you know...
Fifty-two years ago on March 9th Barbie made her official debut at the American International Toy Show in New York.
The brainchild of Ruth Handler, Barbie was named after her daughter (Barbara), who one of Ruth's main inspirations behind creating the Barbie doll in the first place. Ruth noticed that when Barbara was playing with her paper dolls, the young girl often gave them adult rolls. This struck a chord with Ruth who realized that most dolls at the time were created to look like babies and young children. Sensing a genuine need in the toy market for a more mature looking doll, Ruth put the idea for just such a toy forward to her husband (Elliot Handler), who was the co-founder of Mattel. It took several years to start production of the great icon ~ fashion doll.
Just some vintage news for today.
Hope your week is going well!

Vintage Image Friday
Vintage Image Friday
I scanned a few images this week from my vintage Easter and St. Patrick's Day postcard collections. I did not retouch any of the postcards scanned this week.
This is a peek at my second time around fabric collage.
In my earlier post this week,
I mentioned that my first collage was lost in the mail.
So here is a peek at my second collage for Sharon.
For this collage I used vintage laces, buttons and a cabinet card embellished with vintage rhinestones/pearls and a millinery flower.
Thank you for visiting today.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend!

swap goodies, mail surprises, and vintage finds
As promised, here are some photos of a mail surprise, winter swap goodies, and some vintage finds.
Warning a lot of photos in this post!
If you follow my blog, you know that I lost a camera.
This is Valentine from Paula Clare.
Beautiful detail!
Thank you Paula Clare!
I participated in the Winter Swap.
I love the mixed media in her fabric collage!
Thank you Sharon!
Please visit her blog for wonderful stamps!
Now the bad news! I made this for Sharon.
But it is lost in the mail!
So I am making her another fabric collage this week.
This is the first time a swap of mine has been lost in the mail...
I am so embarrassed.
This is a group of vintage tea cups I found.
Have I ever told you...I love vintage plates?
I hope you enjoyed your visit today.
Wishing you a wonderful day!
