Some memories...

This is me and my sister Debbie.
My grandmother made a lot of our dresses.
We were less than a year apart...Irish twins.
When I was young I would spend a lot of time at my grandparent's home during the summer.
I was raised with 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Yes, we had a large family!
My fondest memories are spent with my grandparents and my sister Debbie.
My grandmother taught me how to sew by hand and using the sewing machine at a young age. I made all my Barbie doll clothes.
My grandmother watch soap operas during the day and wrestling at night. Yes I said wrestling!

My grandmother was a great cook! She would make homemade bread in the evening. She would make 'puffs' for breakfast. This is what our family called the fried bread. She would roll the dough out, cut it into triangle pieces and then fry it. The cooking process would cause the dough to puff. It was a favorite for the whole family! Of course, remember they did not write or talk about fattening foods much back then...well at least I do not remember such conversations. I only remember my grandmother cooking great meals!

I will post more about my wonderful childhood memories in the next couple of weeks.

I hope you are having a great week!

Just reading your post brought memories back to me about my grandmother. Gosh, they were good days. I just wish she wrote her recipes down.

Hi Sharon:
Love the photo of you with your sister. My sister and I were 19 months apart and Mum loved to dress us in matching outfits. We had a studio photo taken of us in checkered dresses, too. It's nice to have such lovely memories. Thanks for sharing.
